Facilitated by Salve Regina University faculty members Dr. Melissa Varao and Professor Brian Connors, the Newport Hospitality Lab is a professional development series created for the people who power hospitality throughout Greater Newport.

Restaurants, hotels, event venues, culinary teams, and seasonal operators are all part of the same ecosystem.

This Lab exists to strengthen that ecosystem, together.


March 9th: Guest Experience & Service Quality

Focus: Aligning service delivery with Newport’s premium visitor expectations.

Topics include:

    Designing consistent guest experiences from arrival to departure

    Managing service quality during peak seasonal pressure

    Handling complaints professionally and effectively

    Turning guest interactions into long-term loyalty and positive reputation

Outcome: Teams learn how to deliver refined, consistent service that strengthens brand reputation.
