Full Job Description
Job Title: Event Assistant
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Seasonal: Part-time
Hours: 20 - 30 hours a week
Reports to: Events Manager
This seasonal position assists the Event Manager with multiple summer events. Will use proven time management and organizational skills to help plan, organize, and oversee large events running from June through October. Highly energetic individual must present well adhering to the company’s mission and possess excellent customer service skills.
Key duties:
- Report to Events Manager
- Assist in general planning and coordination of events
- Assist with preparing and organizing events materials
- Assist with set up and tear down of events
- Work with ops team on event needs
- Prepare and distribute signage
- Manage volunteer signups and duties
- Demonstrate customer service to all clients and participants
- On-shore support for regattas
- Ability to work into the evening and weekend
Preferred Experience:
- Effective communication skills, both written and spoken, particularly in person, are essential
- Proficiency in Google Suite preferred
- Excitement for event planning
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Qualifications:
- Must be able to regularly lift at least 30 pounds (50 pounds preferred)
- Agility requirements: Stand for long periods, walk at a fast pace, bend, stretch, reach and sit throughout workday or evening.
Environment:
- Requires individual to be able to withstand varied Spring, Summer and Fall outdoor temperatures. Must be able to work in a highly busy setting with moderate to loud levels of noise.
