Farmers Market Manager
SALTY Winebar in Jamestown, RI is expanding it's services to farmers' markets in southern RI. We are looking for a person who loves cooking, and is available to help prep and then transport and set up prepared food at markets.
This candidate needs to be available weekend mornings as well as 1-2 evening shifts during the week to help prepare market menu items. Must have a good working knowledge of food preparation, cleanliness, and organization. This position works directly with the restaurant chef to organize menu items, review details for markets, and set up/break down market equipment on market days. This candidate must also be confident dealing directly with market customers, as well as have knowledge of basic POS operations to receive customer payments. This position has potential to grow with a candidate who can independently create menu items and track and inventory supplies. A great opportunity to meet people from around the community and prepare delicious meals.
Duties
In this position, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall success of our store, including:
- Providing outstanding customer service and support to enhance the shopping experience.
- Handling cash transactions accurately and efficiently, including cashiering duties.
- Maintaining inventory.
- Utilizing POS systems for sales transactions and inventory management.
- Ensuring a clean and organized store environment that reflects high standards of presentation.
Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous cooking experience in professional kitchen.
- Experience work autonomously to complete preparation tasks.
- Basic math skills for cash handling and retail math calculations.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
